Lokmaya Tilak Museum

The Lokmanya Tilak Museum hosts the works and belongings of Bal Gangadhar Tilak, a leader of the Indian freedom struggle who earned the title ‘Lokmanya’, which means ‘accepted by the people’. It was inaugurated in 1999 by Sonia Gandhi and it is the first stop in the Pune Darshan bus tour. The museum offers a guided tour and the screening of a short film on Tilak for school students. Copies of books written by Tilak are available for sale and a library is open to visitors. The courtyard premises and the auditorium are used for hosting social and cultural programmes.
